Primary Issues: The Margin of Victory

Many 50+ voters are choosing not to identify with either political party. Mainstream television networks that do not have dedicated 50+ programming tend to present all 55 million 50+ voters as a block that have group think and vote in lockstep with one another on the pressing issues that affect them.

RLTV understands that our 50+ audience is increasingly diverse. The premise of this first episode, Primary Issues: The Margin of Victory is that the 55 million seniors who will be going to the polls are often as divided on the issues as the rest of the country. This program explores in great depth those issues that divide the 50+ voting electorate and those issues that unite them.

This program will examine the many diverse views 50+ voters hold on such issues as the role of government, government debt, transfer of wealth, health care, Medicare Social Security, immigration, the environment and social issues. But, they combine these views in ways that challenge conventional liberal or conservative guidelines.

From studios in Washington DC the program is hosted by Cokie Roberts and Sam Donaldson. From New York, Consuelo Mack the host of WealthTrack a program seen on Public Broadcasting stations, will contribute to the conversation on financial issues that are a primary part of voters’ considerations. Also participating are John Palmer interviewing thought-leaders and voters in the field, and economist and writer Ben Stein.
